Find Your Core: A Journey Back to Self

Core = Beliefs, Values, Strengths, Purpose, Mission

Core = Beliefs, Values, Strengths, Purpose, Mission

We don’t always need a drastic change in scenery to find fulfillment. Sometimes, all it takes is the courage to shine our authentic light, to allow our core values, beliefs, and strengths to sculpt our personal environment. It reminds us that instead of constantly seeking new landscapes to find joy, peace or completion, sometimes what we need is to see the familiar with new eyes. So how do we do this? By taking a journey inward, a journey that will be illuminated by the wisdom of self-discovery. And that’s what this book is all about.

RE-MIND Unveiling

the Art and Science of

Well-being

A Secular Path to

Enlightenment

This book is about a path to a profound, lasting change in the way you see and experience the world. A place I call Persistent Transcendent Fundamental Well-being (PTFW), others call it enlightenment. Why should you care about PTFW? Imagine your inner voice, your narrative mind (NM), suddenly quiet. No more self-referential thoughts. No more crying over spilled milk. No inner voice telling you what a loser you are or how ugly, fat, stupid, inadequate, or hopeless you are. Instead, imagine being capable, competent, affable, likable, lovable, and always being enough.

ABOUT THE BOOK

This book is about a deep exploration of our core motivations and how to best understand them. The Zen Enso is a circle hand-drawn in one or two uninhibited brushstrokes to express a moment when the mind is free to let the body create. It symbolizes a number of things in Zen:

Enlightenment

The Enso circle represents enlightenment, the ultimate goal in Zen practice.

Wholeness and Completion

Despite its apparent simplicity, the Enso symbolizes the totality of existence and the completeness of the spiritual journey.

The Universe and the Void

It can be seen as a representation of the universe and the emptiness or void that is a central concept in Zen, stressing the idea of mu, which suggests that no distinctions are necessary.

The Beauty of Imperfection

The incomplete circle or the space where the circle doesn’t quite join can symbolize the beauty of imperfection and the idea that the pursuit of perfection is a never-ending process.

The Art of Letting Go

The way in which the circle is drawn—usually in one fluid, expressive stroke—is also significant. It represents the acceptance of impermanence and the spirit of momentary expression.

The Cycle of Life

The Enso can also be seen as a symbol of the cyclical nature of existence. The brushstroke begins and ends on the paper, which can be thought of as a metaphor for birth, life, and death.
